Ever wondered what life would be like if we could pretend every day is Halloween?
Each time I do, I think back to this book of 25 stories my mom would read to my brother and me during December. Obviously, these were stories for that other holiday, but the one that has always stuck with me is about a little girl who wished it could be Christmas every day.
Predictably, she got sick of it fast. She missed celebrating other holidays and seasons. And, at the end of the story, she was grateful (maybe even relieved) when she finally woke up one morning, and it was no longer Christmas.
The moral of the story: there is such thing as too much of a good thing.
So when people ask if I wish every day could be Halloween, my answer is always no. Sure, we joke about it around the Halloween community, but I like the specialness of spooky season. And part of what makes it special is the waiting.
That said, there are a handful of songs I love to listen to when I do need that little dose of Halloween in January…or April…or July.
And this year’s annual playlist for the blog is a collection of those songs.
Give it a follow and save it for when you need a little dose of Halloween too.
